Despite his full time commitment to the care of his patients, Dr. Maggin still finds time to devote to his first love, his family. Traveling, hiking, scuba diving, and having fun with his grandchildren keep Dr. Maggin busy when out of the office.
Dr. Maggin has been a lifelong resident of the Washington Metropolitan area. He earned his B.S. from the University of Maryland and then an M.S. in Biology from Georgetown University. In 1980, he received his M.D. degree from the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He completed a three-year residency program at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, following which he earned his board certification in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Maggin has a strong interest in geriatric care and spent 20 years as Medical Director of several area nursing homes. He has also served as a medical director of the Laurel Hospital Alcohol and Substance Abuse Program and was chairman of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at the hospital for more than 10 years.
Dr. Maggin feels that the pleasure of caring for and interacting with his many longtime patients continues to provide him a challenging and fulfilling medical career.
